Our client, a specialist manufacturer is seeking to recruit an experienced engineering leader to support a major new programme. The successful candidate will have a proven background as a CAD Engineer with strong CATIA skills designing:

  • Chassis
  • Suspension
  • Braking
  • Steering
  • Powertrain - Transmission, Gearboxes, Axles
  • Heavy vehicle
  • Defence vehicles
  • Aerospace structures

The Opportunity

  • Location: Cwmbran, South Wales
  • Contract: 6 months (subject to contract award)
  • Travel: Some UK travel will be required

This is an excellent opportunity to lead a team of talented engineers, ensuring high-quality design delivery while working closely with customers and project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the CAD/CAE engineering team
  • Plan and allocate engineering workload
  • Support project delivery against programme milestones
  • Review CAD designs and ensure engineering quality standards are achieved
  • Act as the technical interface with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Mentor and support the development of engineers

We're looking for someone with:

  • Strong CATIA experience
  • Previous experience leading CAD and/or CAE engineering teams
  • Previous experience within the automotive or aerospace sector designing loaded, safety-critical mechanical components with durability and fatigue testing
  • Excellent project coordination and communication skills
  • The ability to motivate teams and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
