Are you a proactive Health & Safety professional looking for your next opportunity? We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing organisation seeking a Health & Safety Officer to support their Health, Safety and Compliance team on a fixed-term basis. This role is focused on strengthening site governance and ensuring robust health and safety documentation, procedures and compliance are in place. It's an excellent opportunity for someone with a solid understanding of health and safety legislation who enjoys improving systems and driving best practice.

The Role

  • Reviewing, updating and creating Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work (SSoW).
  • Developing and maintaining Health & Safety procedures and supporting documentation.
  • Producing guidance relating to areas such as Confined Space, Working at Height, Hand-Arm Vibration (HAVS) and other key safety topics.
  • Supporting compliance with current UK Health & Safety legislation.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve safety governance and documentation.
  • Working collaboratively across departments to promote a positive health and safety culture.

Please note this role is primarily governance and compliance focused rather than day-to-day operational Health & Safety support.

We're looking for someone who has:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (essential).
  • Previous Health & Safety experience, ideally within a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment.
  • A good understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation.
  • Excellent organisational and document control skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders across the business.
  • A proactive, positive attitude and willingness to get involved.
