Preferred previous experience with a drainage company but not essential.

The role also requires:

  • A current Class 2 HGV driving licence.
  • The ability to make deliveries/collections to various sites assisting where necessary with unloading.
  • A “can do” attitude with the ability to work flexibly to help colleagues.
  • To be able to work accurately to deadlines and under pressure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work unaided.
  • To work within driver safety policy requirements, and laws of the road at all times.

Task Responsibilities:

  • The delivery/collection and installation/de-installation of pumps to client sites across the region to ensure that the customer has the best service and reliability, with minimum downtime.
  • Work is normally scheduled on a daily basis although flexibility is required as staff need to be able to respond quickly to emergencies.
  • Compliance with health, safety and environmental legislative requirements in accordance with Company procedures and driver safety policy requirements.
  • Carry out pre-start daily vehicle checks and inform manager of any possible issues.
  • Adhere to all road regulations relevant to the vehicle including working time, driving and resting requirements.
  • Delivery and collection of plant for customers at sites across the region.
  • Check load against the delivery notes also checking security of load.
  • Ensure delivery notes signed by the customer.
  • Ensure risk assessments and method statements have been utilised.
  • Assist with keeping the vehicle in a world-class condition.
  • Assisting colleagues with general duties within the depot, when not out on deliveries or collections.
  • Complete damage inspection checks to ensure PP equipment is maintained to the highest level and to enable all damages to be recovered from the customer.
  • To obtain a signature for the collection of the off-hired equipment.

Hours are 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. OT is 1 1/2 Monday to 12 Saturday and double time after.
