We are seeking a skilled Press Brake Operator to join our manufacturing team. As a Press Brake Operator, you will be responsible for operating our Bystronic and Amada press brake machines to produce high-quality component parts. You will work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that production commitments are met and adhering to production schedules. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering processes, with the ability to operate press brake machinery effectively. This role is crucial in ensuring the precision and quality of our sheet metal products, contributing to the overall success of our operations. This job is to start immediately. Pay is negotiable depending on experience.
Duties:
- Operate and set up press brake machines (Bystronic and Amada) for bending and shaping sheet metal components.
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications to determine the correct tooling and settings.
- Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet specified tolerances and standards.
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform general metalworking duties as needed, including rolling and forming.
- Utilise hand tools effectively.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Skills:
- Proficient in engineering techniques with experience in a similar environment.
- Ability to set up and operate press brake machines to bend, form, and shape sheet metal according to specifications.
- Able to read and interpret drawings and work orders to determine the correct dimensions and tolerances.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Familiarity with tooling requirements for various press brake operations.
- Competence in basic maths for precise measurements and calculations.
- Experience using hand tools effectively for assembly and finishing tasks.
- Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Inspecting fresh sheet metal for any imperfections or quality issues.
- Monitor metal quality as it is being shaped.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar manufacturing or engineering environment is essential.
- Experience in operating press brake machinery and working with sheet metal.
- Ability to meet production deadlines and contribute to team targets.
Expected hours: 40 per week between 7-4.30 Mon to Thurs, 6-1 on Friday. The hours are flexible to a point.
