RSW are looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to support the efficient operation of our manufacturing facility. You will be responsible for the upkeep, maintenance, repair, and improvement of mechanical machinery and equipment across the plant to minimize downtime and ensure optimal production output.
Job Duties
- Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on all plant equipment such as milling machines, lathes, boring machines and other plant.
- Carry out routine maintenance on equipment and plant.
- Diagnose faults and breakdowns in a timely and efficient manner to minimize production disruptions.
- Read and interpret mechanical and engineering drawings and manuals.
- Work closely with the production team to address equipment-related issues and improve equipment reliability.
- Assist with machine installations and factory upgrades as required.
- Ensure all work complies with workplace safety standards and regulations.
Skills/Qualifications Required
- Recognized trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in a maintenance fitting role within an engineering environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems including hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Familiarity with engineering plant.
- Must be able to work as part of a team and unsupervised.
- Ability to understand mechanical drawings.
- Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance tasks.
- Strong commitment to health and safety practices.
- Ability to work under tight timescales and under pressure.
- Good time keeping.
- Reliable.
- Desire to work a reasonable amount of overtime.
- Welding and fabrication skills.
- Electrical knowledge would be advantageous.
Hours of Work
Monday – Thursday 06:00 – 16:15 or 07:00 – 17:15 (1/2 Hr Lunch Unpaid). Minimum 39 Hour Week before any overtime is paid.
Overtime
Time & half for hours worked Monday – Saturday. Double time for hours worked Sunday. The position is hourly paid and fully qualified and experienced candidates can expect to be paid £14.00 per hour, paid weekly.
