The Warehouse Operative will work with the Warehouse Shift Coordinator in carrying out the daily tasks of the Warehouse department.

Warehouse Operative is an essential role in the logistic process to ensure the goods in and dispatch processes are followed and customer orders are fulfilled.

This is a Temp to Perm role working a regular night shift Monday-Thursday 6pm-6am.

Essential daily tasks

  • Report every potentially hazardous incident
  • Conduct physical inspection of the areas with the Warehouse Shift Coordinator
  • Ensure that all areas of the warehouse are tidy and well-maintained, clean as you go.
  • Work with Shift Co-ordinator on future load plans in relation to stock and advise Shift Co-ordinator of potential shortages
  • Carry out stocktakes and cycle counts
  • Discuss each identified deficiency or discrepancy with the Shift Manager before the end of shift
  • Check all pallets are to standard and any damage is reported with appropriate action taken
  • Update spreadsheets with despatch information.
  • Ensure stock rotation is maintained with FIFO system
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with Team Members over all functions
  • Follow booking in and despatch process for any materials and update system and relevant spreadsheets
  • Issue materials by batch relevance to pick areas to allow planned production to be maintained
  • Make sure you keep the required documentation up to date
  • Complete all forklift checklists at shift start
  • Review and align completed tasks and actions taken during the warehouse shift with your manager.

  • Comprehension of quality standards, compliance with these standards, and reporting doubts when the process does not go smoothly.
  • Understanding processes and readiness for their continuous improvement

  • Experience within goods in and dispatch area and ability to develop further.
  • Site safety awareness.
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills.

Required experience

  • FLT licence – 3 years experience
  • Annual “long service award” of 4% increase of the basic pay each year once you have been for over a year from the anniversary date. Up to 20% cap
  • An extra holiday day is awarded for every 5yrs service with no cap
