A highly respected and well-established local law firm is looking to appoint a new Legal Cashier to join its busy Finance team. Working closely with the Chief Cashier and wider finance team, you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the firm's cashiering function. Excellent benefits package, hybrid working and 27 days holiday + bank holidays! Salary is dependent on experience/qualifications. Higher salaries can be discussed.

Duties:

• Accurately post client and office account payments, ensuring all required approvals and supporting documentation are in place.
• Process payment instructions through online banking systems in line with internal controls.
• Post and allocate receipts, including electronic payments and cheques, to the correct ledgers.
• Review and post client bills and credit notes, ensuring accuracy and appropriate authorisation.
• Process client transfers, client-to-office transfers and write-offs in accordance with established procedures.
• Assist with work in progress transfers and write-offs, maintaining accurate matter records.
• Respond professionally to finance queries from fee earners, secretaries and colleagues across the firm.
• Produce and monitor compliance reports, including inactive accounts, residual balances and outstanding transfers.
• Process staff expenses and corporate credit card transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Support the purchase ledger function and assist with supplier payment runs as required.
• Provide cover for colleagues within the cashiering team when needed.
• Support the smooth running of the Finance department through a flexible and team-focused approach.

What we're looking for:

A successful candidate will ideally have previous experience within a legal cashiering role or a similar finance position within a legal environment as previous knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules would be beneficial. You must live within a 45 minute commute of Tunbridge Wells.
