Our client, an established logistics business is looking to appoint a Freight Operations Executive to join its busy Trafford Park operation. This is a hands-on, highly organised role focused on the day-to-day coordination and administration of road freight movements, ensuring shipments are controlled from booking through to final delivery. The Freight Operations Executive will play a key role in keeping transport activity running smoothly, accurately and on time nationwide.
As Freight Operations Executive, you will take ownership of daily transport administration and operational coordination, acting as a central point between hauliers, depots, warehouse teams and customers.
To succeed as Freight Operations Executive, you will be organised, calm under pressure and comfortable working in a fast-moving transport environment. The Freight Operations Executive may be required to support other duties as dictated by the needs of the business and will be expected to work in line with company policies, confidentiality requirements and performance objectives.

- Manifesting export trailers and issuing pre-advice documentation
- Updating collection and delivery statuses accurately and within set timeframes
- Chasing, processing and recording PODs on internal systems
- Producing daily outturn reports and resolving discrepancies within agreed SLA windows
- Maintaining job references, delivery notes and shipment amendments
- Obtaining and coordinating haulage quotes for ad hoc or specialist movements
- Liaising with internal depots to resolve transport queries
- Checking collection readiness and updating planning schedules
- Creating and issuing run sheets for collections and deliveries
- Working closely with Warehouse and Transport teams to support efficient freight flow
- Handling customer, subcontractor and driver queries via phone and email
- Data entry, accruals and subcontractor movement creation
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Able to manage deadlines and competing priorities
- Confident working independently and as part of a team
- Flexible, adaptable and quick to pick up new processes
- Positive and proactive approach to problem solving
