We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Temporary Finance Assistant to support our finance team during a busy period on a part time basis / Monday to Thursday. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience using Sage and Sage Intacct, with strong transactional finance skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised finance professional who can quickly integrate into the team and provide immediate support across day-to-day finance operations.
Key Responsibilities – Finance Assistant
- Processing purchase invoices, supplier payments, and expense claims
- Raising and processing sales invoices
- Performing bank reconciliations
- Supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
- Assisting with payment runs
- Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring data integrity
- Posting journals and assisting with month-end processes
- Reconciling supplier and customer accounts
- Managing finance inbox queries and responding promptly to internal/external stakeholders
- Supporting cash allocation and credit control activities where required
- Assisting with ad hoc finance administration and reporting
- Using Sage and Sage Intacct for day-to-day transaction processing and reporting
Skills & Experience Required – Finance Assistant
- Previous experience in a Finance Assistant / Accounts Assistant / Accounts Payable / Transactional Finance role
- Strong working knowledge of Sage and Sage Intacct (essential)
- Good understanding of finance processes including AP, AR, reconciliations, and journals
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong Excel skills (e.g. VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables beneficial)
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Available to start at short notice / immediately preferred
