We are exclusively supporting a long-established UK engineering manufacturer specialising in the design and build of industrial paint finishing systems and thermal curing ovens. They are now seeking an experienced Technical Sales Engineer to join their commercial function, operating in a consultative, solution-led capacity across UK manufacturing and industrial clients. This is a high-trust, senior-facing role reporting directly to the Managing Director. This is not a transactional sales position.
The successful candidate will be responsible for engineering-led solution selling, working with end users to design and specify bespoke finishing systems including spray booths, powder coating environments, and curing ovens. You will act as a key technical interface between customer requirements and internal engineering capability.
Responsibilities:- Develop new business and manage key accounts across UK industry
- Conduct site surveys and technical consultations with production teams
- Translate customer requirements into engineered system solutions
- Prepare quotations, proposals, and technical specifications
- Liaise with internal design and production teams through project lifecycle
- Manage full sales cycle from enquiry through to order and delivery
- Occasional international travel as required
- Paint & powder coating systems
- Industrial spray booth manufacturers
- Thermal processing / industrial oven equipment
- Surface finishing / capital equipment sales environments
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience in technical sales or application engineering
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and industrial manufacturing processes
- Confident client-facing communicator with consultative approach
- UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel frequently
