Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Tax Accountant to join a well-established and growing accountancy practice.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tax professional looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive practice environment, with the opportunity to work closely with a varied portfolio of clients and develop their technical and advisory skills.

The Role

As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will take responsibility for a portfolio of clients, providing a mixture of compliance and tax advisory services. You will work closely with clients and the wider accounts team to ensure all work is completed accurately and within deadlines.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and reviewing personal and corporate tax returns
• Managing your own portfolio of clients
• Providing clients with day-to-day tax advice and support
• Assisting with tax planning and advisory work
• Reviewing tax computations and ensuring compliance with current legislation
• Dealing with HMRC correspondence and resolving client queries
• Supporting junior members of the team and reviewing their work where required
• Liaising directly with clients and building strong long-term relationships
• Keeping up to date with changes in tax legislation
• Assisting the wider practice with ad-hoc tax and accounting projects

About You

We are looking for someone with previous tax experience within an accountancy practice, who is confident managing their own workload and dealing directly with clients.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience working within an accountancy practice
• Strong experience across personal and/or corporate tax
• Experience managing a portfolio of clients
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Strong communication and client relationship skills
• The ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively
• ATT/CTA/ACA/ACCA qualification or part-qualified status would be advantageous, although candidates qualified by experience will also be considered
