The Role
As Finance Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day finance function, ensuring financial transactions are processed accurately and efficiently and providing support to the wider finance team. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Processing purchase and sales invoices accurately and within agreed timescales.
- Matching invoices to purchase orders and delivery documentation.
- Processing credit notes and resolving invoice queries.
- Posting and allocating customer and supplier payments.
- Reconciling customer and supplier accounts and investigating discrepancies.
- Assisting with bank reconciliations and ensuring transactions are recorded accurately.
- Preparing and issuing customer statements where required.
- Liaising with internal and external customers and suppliers to resolve account and payment queries.
- Processing employee expenses and ensuring supporting documentation is provided.
- Assisting with the preparation of aged debtor and creditor reports.
- Monitoring outstanding invoices and supporting the wider finance team with payment queries.
- Processing direct debit forms and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Assisting with month-end procedures and providing information required for management accounts.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date finance records and documentation.
- Using multiple in-house systems alongside Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams.
- Providing cover for colleagues during periods of annual leave and supporting the wider finance team as required.
