The successful candidate will ensure that all electrical work meets the highest standards while achieving complete satisfaction for both direct and indirect clients. The role focuses on supporting electrical installations, maintenance and fault diagnosis while maintaining full compliance with company procedures, quality systems and safety standards.

About the role

In this role, you will carry out electrical installation, maintenance and fault-finding activities following completion of an electrical apprenticeship. Work will take place within a highly regulated environment where strict adherence to safety policies and quality standards is essential.

Key responsibilities include diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults by isolating defective equipment, carrying out visual inspections, testing components and identifying root causes before implementing effective repairs. You will install electrical systems and associated equipment, ensuring all work is completed to required standards and supported by appropriate certification. You may also assist in the preparation of estimates and quotations when required. All tasks must be performed in line with company safety policies, good engineering practice and the Quality Management System applied to Mechanical & Electrical systems.

The role involves managing allocated work orders from receipt through to completion while providing progress updates where required. You will undertake internal company training and work in accordance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards. You will collaborate within a mobile team consisting of electrical, mechanical and building operatives, maintaining strong working relationships with clients and potential customers. The position also includes contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and promoting value for money across all activities. A multi-skilled background with knowledge of High Voltage systems would be advantageous.

About you

To be considered for this Electrical Maintenance Electrician opportunity, you must hold City & Guilds 2360 Part 1 & 2 or an equivalent NVQ in Electrical Installation, along with C&G 2382 – 18th Edition Wiring Regulations. You will also hold the C&G 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification. The C&G 2391 Design & Verification qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.

You should have proven experience in the installation, testing and maintenance of LV distribution systems. Experience working with standby power systems, including generators or prime movers and UPS systems, is also required. A strong understanding of safe working practices and permit-to-work systems is essential. You should be able to work closely with internal teams, customers and suppliers to resolve complex and interrelated technical issues. Knowledge of A/C systems and control systems is important, while experience within pharmaceutical, healthcare or processing environments, particularly within a GMP environment, would be beneficial. Strong communication skills and a flexible approach to working patterns are also required to succeed in this role.
