We are currently recruiting for two experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineers to join a well-established manufacturing site in Folkestone on an initial 9-month temporary contract.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, supporting the maintenance, reliability and continuous improvement of production and plant equipment.

The Role

As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring production equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Working as part of a small engineering team, you will carry out planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding, equipment testing and continuous improvement activities to maximise plant performance and minimise downtime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned, preventative, predictive and reactive maintenance on production and plant equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults efficiently.
  • Complete routine inspections and testing to ensure equipment operates within specification.
  • Troubleshoot PLC and robotic systems where required.
  • Prioritise maintenance work in line with production requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including automation developments and SMED projects.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Health & Safety, GMP, quality and environmental standards.
  • Support colleagues through knowledge sharing and contribute to maintaining high engineering standards across the site.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have

  • Extensive experience working within an automated FMCG or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong experience maintaining processing and packaging machinery.
  • Mechanical qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
  • Electrical qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
  • Experience fault finding on PLCs and robotic equipment.
  • Proven experience delivering reactive, planned, preventative and predictive maintenance.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and SMED.
  • Understanding of COSHH regulations.
  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt (desirable).
  • 17th Edition Electrical Qualification (desirable).
