We are currently recruiting for a Junior Packaging Inspector to join a busy Quality team within an established manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is methodical, has a strong eye for detail and would like to develop their career within Quality Control/Quality Assurance. Previous quality or inspection experience would be advantageous, although we are also interested in candidates with the right attitude and transferable skills.

The Role

Working as part of the Plant Quality team, you will be responsible for inspecting and evaluating incoming components and packaging materials to ensure they meet approved quality specifications. Your duties will include:

  • Inspecting incoming components and packaging materials against approved specifications
  • Identifying and reporting any quality issues or non-conformities
  • Making decisions on whether materials should be accepted, rejected or referred for further advice
  • Releasing approved components and packaging materials using SAP
  • Sampling and testing incoming goods in accordance with required standards
  • Maintaining specification files, reference samples and artwork records
  • Labelling rejected pallets and liaising with the Warehouse team
  • Supporting the Warehouse team with quality-related issues
  • Keeping quality procedures and work instructions up to date
  • Working closely with the wider Quality team to support continuous improvement

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A good general standard of education
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A methodical and organised approach to work
  • Good computer skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • The confidence to work independently and make quality-related decisions
  • Previous experience within Quality Control, Quality Assurance or inspection would be advantageous
  • Previous SAP experience would also be beneficial, but is not essential

Working Hours

Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
Friday: 8:00am – 3:30pm
30-minute unpaid lunch break each day.
