We are seeking a proactive Technical Assistant to support value engineering initiatives within FMCG product development and manufacturing teams. This role focuses on assisting with product testing, material evaluations, and process improvements to help deliver cost-effective, high-quality consumer goods.

Key Responsibilities- Product Testing & Trials
- Support laboratory and pilot-scale trials for household branded products
- Prepare formulations, samples, and packaging components for testing
- Assist in evaluating product performance, stability, and quality
- Data Recording & Analysis
- Accurately record test results, observations, and batch data
- Support basic analysis of results (e.g., comparing formulations or materials)
- Maintain clear and organised documentation for compliance and traceability
- Cross-Functional Support
- Work with R&D, Quality, Production, and Packaging teams
- Assist during factory trials, line trials, or product changeovers
- Help ensure smooth communication of test results and findings
- Identify opportunities to reduce waste, simplify processes, or improve efficiency
- Support implementation of product or process improvements
- Follow and contribute to standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Basic scientific or technical background (e.g., GCSEs/A-levels in Science, Food Technology, or Engineering)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately
- Good organisational and record-keeping skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Awareness of hygiene, safety, and quality standards
- Experience in FMCG, or high volume manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) or quality standards
- Basic Excel skills for data entry and analysis
- Interest in product development or process optimisation
- On-the-job training and development in FMCG R&D and manufacturing
- Exposure to real product development and improvement projects
