Finance & Operations Coordinator in West Kent

A varied, analytical role for someone with an accounting background who wants to move beyond traditional accounts.

Are you someone with a background in accounting or finance who enjoys analysing information, improving processes and creating efficient systems, but no longer wants to be focused on day-to-day accounts?

We are looking for a highly organised, analytical and proactive individual to join our team in a varied role combining financial understanding, operational coordination, data analysis and process improvement.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers, but is equally motivated by finding better ways of working, developing spreadsheets, building systems and bringing structure and efficiency to business operations.

The Role

You will play a key role in coordinating and improving business processes, using your financial knowledge and analytical skills to support decision-making, streamline operations and ensure systems run smoothly.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Data analysis and reporting: Analysing financial and operational data, identifying trends, producing meaningful reports and providing insights to support business decisions.
  • Systems and spreadsheets: Creating, developing and maintaining sophisticated Excel spreadsheets, trackers, dashboards and reporting tools to improve visibility and efficiency.
  • Process improvement: Reviewing existing procedures, identifying inefficiencies and designing and implementing more effective systems and workflows.
  • Coordination: Bringing together information from different departments, coordinating activities, monitoring progress and ensuring tasks and projects are completed efficiently.
  • Financial oversight: Using your accounting knowledge to understand financial information, monitor budgets, analyse costs and support financial planning, without being responsible for traditional day-to-day bookkeeping.
  • Organisation and control: Establishing clear processes, improving data accuracy, maintaining documentation and ensuring information is accessible and well managed.
  • Project support: Taking ownership of ad hoc projects, developing new ways of working and helping the business evolve as it grows.

About You:

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a background in accountancy, finance or a numerically focused role, with a strong understanding of financial information.
  • Enjoys analysing data, identifying patterns and turning information into practical solutions.
  • Has strong Excel skills and enjoys creating spreadsheets, reports and management information.
  • Is naturally organised, methodical and highly detail-oriented.
  • Has a logical, problem-solving mindset and enjoys creating systems, structure and more efficient ways of working.
  • Is confident coordinating information, managing multiple priorities and working with people across the business.
  • Is proactive, curious and comfortable taking ownership of projects and improving existing processes.
  • Is keen to move away from a traditional accounts role into a broader, more varied and commercially focused position.

This role would suit someone who has developed a solid foundation in accounting or finance but is now looking for a different direction, where they can use their numerical and analytical abilities in a more varied, operational and systems-focused capacity.

Rather than spending your day processing invoices, reconciling accounts or completing routine bookkeeping, you will have the opportunity to analyse, coordinate, create, improve and make a tangible difference to how the business operates.

If you enjoy working with numbers but your real strengths lie in analysis, organisation, systems and problem-solving, this could be the ideal next step in your career.
