An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Family Solicitor to join a friendly and supportive Family team within an established law firm based in Gravesend.

This is an ideal opportunity for a proactive Family Solicitor looking to manage a varied caseload of private family matters while working within a collaborative and approachable team environment.

The successful candidate will manage their own caseload from initial instruction through to completion, providing clear, practical and empathetic legal advice to clients. You will have the opportunity to work across a broad range of private family matters, including divorce and separation, financial arrangements, children disputes and domestic abuse matters.

The Role:

You will manage your own caseload and provide high-quality legal advice and representation to clients across a broad range of private family matters. Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing a varied caseload of private family law matters from initial instruction through to completion
• Advising and representing clients in relation to divorce and separation
• Advising on matrimonial finance and financial arrangements
• Handling private children matters, including disputes concerning arrangements for children
• Advising on property arrangements and cohabitation matters
• Dealing with domestic abuse matters where appropriate
• Advising on adoption and childcare-related issues
• Assisting clients with mediation and alternative dispute resolution processes
• Conducting client interviews and providing clear, practical and sensitive legal advice
• Preparing legal documentation, correspondence, statements and court forms
• Liaising with clients, solicitors, barristers, courts and other relevant third parties
• Preparing cases and ensuring matters are progressed efficiently and effectively
• Maintaining regular communication with clients and providing a high standard of client care
• Managing deadlines and prioritising workloads within a busy Family department
• Maintaining accurate and compliant files in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal procedures
• Working collaboratively with colleagues while being confident managing your own caseload with minimal supervision

About You:

We are looking for a qualified Family Solicitor who is keen to develop their career within a friendly, supportive and collaborative regional practice.

You will ideally have:

• Qualification as a Solicitor with previous experience in private family law
• Experience managing a varied family law caseload independently from instruction through to completion
• Strong technical knowledge across divorce, financial matters, children disputes and wider private family law
• The ability to work proactively and use your own initiative with minimal supervision
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively to deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• Excellent communication and client care skills
• The ability to build strong and lasting relationships with clients and colleagues
• A professional, empathetic and understanding approach when dealing with sensitive family matters
• A proactive and commercially minded approach to developing and maintaining client relationships
• Experience of business development and networking would be advantageous, although not essential
