A highly regarded and forward-thinking law firm in Tunbridge Wells is seeking an experienced Court of Protection Paralegal to join its established Private Client team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a paralegal with previous Court of Protection and/or private client experience to develop their career within a supportive and professional environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with experienced fee earners and play an important role in providing a high-quality service to clients and their families.

The Role

The successful Court of Protection Paralegal will provide comprehensive support across a varied caseload, assisting with the administration and management of Court of Protection matters.

Key responsibilities will include

  • Assisting fee earners with a varied caseload of Court of Protection matters.
  • Preparing and managing legal documentation, correspondence and reports.
  • Supporting applications to the Court of Protection and assisting with ongoing matters.
  • Managing client files, ensuring records and documentation are maintained accurately and efficiently.
  • Liaising professionally with clients, family members, professional deputies, solicitors and other third parties.
  • Handling incoming enquiries and correspondence and ensuring matters are progressed promptly.
  • Preparing schedules, forms, bundles and other relevant documentation.
  • Assisting with billing, time recording and general matter administration.
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Providing general administrative and paralegal support to the Private Client team as required.

About You

The ideal candidate will have previous experience within Court of Protection, private client, trusts, probate or a closely related area of law.

You will ideally have

  • Previous experience working as a Court of Protection Paralegal, Legal Assistant or similar role.
  • A good understanding of Court of Protection procedures and terminology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively to deadlines.
  • A professional, empathetic and client-focused approach.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word and familiarity with legal case management systems.
  • The ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a wider team.
