The Opportunity

A highly regarded accountancy practice in Chichester is looking to recruit an Accountant to join its growing team.

Known for its collaborative culture and excellent client service, the firm combines traditional values with a modern approach, creating an environment where team members feel supported, valued, and encouraged to develop.

You'll work with a varied portfolio of clients across multiple sectors, gaining exposure to accounts preparation, tax compliance, bookkeeping, and client advisory work.

This is a permanent full time position, with flexible working arrangements and hybrid working available.

Salary is competitive and dependent on experience, qualifications, and working hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing year-end accounts for a diverse portfolio of clients
• Supporting clients with tax, VAT, and compliance requirements
• Assisting with bookkeeping and maintaining accurate financial records
• Preparing VAT returns and related submissions
• Liaising directly with clients and responding to queries
• Working with cloud accounting software including Xero and QuickBooks
• Supporting process improvements and helping to enhance client service delivery
• Collaborating closely with colleagues across the practice

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience working within a UK accountancy practice
• ACA, ACCA, AAT, or equivalent qualifications, or be actively studying towards qualification
• Experience preparing accounts and supporting tax compliance work
• Strong communication and client relationship management skills
• Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero or QuickBooks
• A proactive, organised, and solution-focused approach
