OTAQ Connectors produce a range of connectors for the diving industry along with cables used within the offshore industry. We have an international clientele, and we are currently seeking an experienced Machinist proficient using manual lathe & milling machine to join our team.
Hours of work: Monday - Thursday 7:00 - 17:00. This is a full-time position based in Ulverston. The role will be responsible for performing day to day machining of inserts, mould tool manufacture and maintenance with additional inspection responsibilities dependent on workload.
Responsibilities:
- Operates and maintains the lathe & milling machine.
- Plans machining from engineering drawings and material specifications. Experienced in interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances.
- Maintain quality and safety standards, keeping records and maintaining equipment.
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintains equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
Experience:
- Experience of operating general machines or experience within a toolroom environment (Advantageous).
- The successful candidate will need to have experience operating machinery and working in a metal manufacturing (Essential).
- Good understanding of customer specifications/machining skills and testing criteria.
- You will have been responsible for the quality of your own work.
Requirements:
- Ability to implement and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Attention to detail, along with a high level of honesty and integrity. Specific training will be given to the successful candidate.
Salary will be negotiated depending on experience. Salary: From £28,500 per year.
