Job Description: Site Carpenter
Location: Leicester
Type: Full-time Temporary
Start Date: Immediate (flexible for notice periods)
Pay Rate: £20 – £25 per hour (DOE)
Overview
We are seeking skilled Site Carpenters with experience across 1st Fix, 2nd Fix, Roofing and Cladding to join our team on a variety of projects. The role involves working on both commercial and residential sites, delivering high-quality workmanship while maintaining strict health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out 1st Fix carpentry including stud walls, joists, floors, door frames, and window frames.
Perform 2nd Fix carpentry such as fitting doors, skirting, architraves, staircases, and bespoke joinery.
Install, repair, and maintain roofing structures and cladding systems using timber, sheet materials, and metal finishes.
Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure accurate installation.
Use a range of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
Ensure work meets required quality standards and project deadlines.
Adhere to all site safety rules, method statements, and risk assessments.
Work independently or as part of a team alongside other trades.
Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience in 1st Fix, 2nd Fix, Roofing, and Cladding.
Ability to work from construction drawings and specifications.
Skilled in using a wide range of carpentry tools and equipment.
Good attention to detail and high standards of finish.
Strong understanding of health & safety practices on site.
CSCS Card (essential).
Own tools and valid driving licence (preferred).
