Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) Wanted! – Immediate Start

Location: Newcastle- Under- Lyme | Rotating Shifts 4 On 4 Off

Pay: £45K + Shift Allowance + Overtime

Are you an experienced Maintenance Engineer with an Electrical bias? We are currently looking for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer with proven hands-on logistic maintenance experience to join a growing team in ST5. You will be responsible for ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of automated equipment including conveyors, sorters, and tipping systems. You’ll work across electrical and mechanical systems, responding to faults, performing planned maintenance, and contributing to the safe, organized running of the engineering function. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in quality craftsmanship, and is confident repairing and maintaining essential parts of the supply chain.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Identifying and resolving mechanical or electrical issues quickly to minimise disruption.
  • Liaise effectively with Operations Managers, Section Leaders, and Control Room staff to coordinate fault responses and maintenance tasks.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and breakdown repairs across a wide range of automated machinery.
  • Diagnose and repair faults in control panels, drives, motors, and PLC-controlled systems.
  • Replace belts, chains, bearings, and other components as required.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained in safe working order and stored correctly when not in use.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activity, fault resolution, and handovers.

Requirements

  • City & Guilds qualification in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Strong background in electrical/mechanical maintenance
  • Knowledge of 16th/17th/18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematic diagrams
  • Experience working on PLC-controlled systems (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley)
  • Understanding of Health & Safety procedures in an industrial setting
