Regional Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Technical Draughtsperson to join a market leading heavy plant machinery company based in Leicester. Qualifications
Essential:
- Previous experience as a Technical Draughtsperson, CAD Technician or Design Draughtsperson
- Strong experience producing 2D manufacturing and fabrication drawings
- Proficient with AutoCAD or a similar 2D CAD package
- Experience creating detailed drawings for fabricated and machined components
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processes
- Excellent attention to detail with a methodical approach to work
Desirable:
- Experience within heavy engineering, plant machinery, structural steel or bespoke manufacturing
- Exposure to sheet metal and fabrication design
- Knowledge of manufacturing tolerances and Design for Manufacture (DFM)
- Experience working alongside fabrication or machine shop teams
Roles & Responsibilities
- Producing detailed 2D manufacturing and fabrication drawings for the workshop
- Creating accurate component drawings from engineering designs
- Preparing manufacturing packs for bespoke fabricated parts
- Working closely with Design Engineers, Project Engineers and the fabrication team
- Ensuring drawings are suitable for manufacture and comply with company standards
- Updating existing drawings and producing revisions where required
- Supporting continuous improvements within the drawing office
- Liasing with production to resolve manufacturing queries
