Technical Draughtsperson Wanted – Immediate Start! Leicester | £35K-£38K (DOE) Permanent, Full-Time

Regional Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Technical Draughtsperson to join a market leading heavy plant machinery company based in Leicester. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a growing organisation, ensuring high quality engineering drawings and concepts are manufactured and produced.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Previous experience as a Technical Draughtsperson, CAD Technician or Design Draughtsperson
  • Strong experience producing 2D manufacturing and fabrication drawings
  • Proficient with AutoCAD or a similar 2D CAD package
  • Experience creating detailed drawings for fabricated and machined components
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processes
  • Excellent attention to detail with a methodical approach to work

Desirable:

  • Experience within heavy engineering, plant machinery, structural steel or bespoke manufacturing
  • Exposure to sheet metal and fabrication design
  • Knowledge of manufacturing tolerances and Design for Manufacture (DFM)
  • Experience working alongside fabrication or machine shop teams

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Producing detailed 2D manufacturing and fabrication drawings for the workshop
  • Creating accurate component drawings from engineering designs
  • Preparing manufacturing packs for bespoke fabricated parts
  • Working closely with Design Engineers, Project Engineers and the fabrication team
  • Ensuring drawings are suitable for manufacture and comply with company standards
  • Updating existing drawings and producing revisions where required
  • Supporting continuous improvements within the drawing office
  • Liasing with production to resolve manufacturing queries
