Electrical Design Engineer Wanted – Immediate Start! Leicester | £40K-£45K (DOE) Permanent, Full-Time

Are you an experienced Electrical Design Engineer? Regional Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a market leading manufacturer, specialising in Heavy Plant Equipment based in Leicester. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a growing organisation, working on large scale industrial projects with real variety and global exposure.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Degree, HNC or HND in Electrical / Electronic Engineering
  • Experience with industrial electrical systems and controls
  • Experience using SEE Electrical (or similar electrical CAD packages)
  • Ability to read and produce electrical schematics
  • Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills

Knowledge of:

  • PLCs (e.g. Siemens, Allen-Bradley)
  • Motor control systems and drives
  • Industrial automation and instrumentation

Desirable:

  • Experience within heavy plant, quarrying, or process industries
  • Exposure to SCADA systems and remote monitoring
  • Experience supporting site commissioning or international projects

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Producing control panel designs, wiring diagrams, and schematics
  • Using SEE Electrical for electrical design and CAD work
  • Programming and configuring PLC and automation systems
  • Supporting installation, testing, and commissioning of equipment
  • Troubleshooting electrical and control system issues (on-site and remotely)
  • Ensuring compliance with electrical standards and safety regulations
  • Working closely with mechanical engineers and wider project teams

Designing electrical systems for:

  • Asphalt plants
  • Crushing & screening systems
  • Concrete batching plants

Requirements

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will also be expected to:

  • Work with Project Managers to ensure designs are delivered on time
  • Collaborate with other departments
