We are looking to hire two specialised drivers to support key functions at a distribution centre in Chaddesden: a Counterbalance Driver for dispatch and goods-in areas and a Reach Truck Driver for stock allocation and racking. If a candidate holds both licences, this would be an asset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Counterbalance Driver: Primarily responsible for handling incoming and outgoing goods in the dispatch and goods-in departments. Safely load and unload items from lorries, ensuring secure and efficient handling of all items. Conduct regular inspections of goods for quality control before dispatch. Maintain an organised work area, clearing waste and ensuring clear walkways. Manual handling and any other warehouse duties involved.
- Reach Truck Driver: Responsible for stock allocation and organization within the warehouse, with a focus on safely storing items on high racking levels. Support stock rotation to optimise space and streamline picking and packing processes. Label, organise, and store inventory for easy retrieval and efficient use of warehouse space. Conduct periodic checks on stored items to ensure inventory accuracy and safety.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Valid certification for counterbalance or reach truck operation (both preferred but not required).
- Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous.
- Strong focus on quality control, safety protocols, and efficient inventory management.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
