Our client is a leading provider of support services for individuals with learning disabilities, committed to empowering individuals to lead fulfilling lives. They are seeking an experienced Business Manager to join their team in Warrington and play a crucial role in helping to shape the future of the organisation as they navigate a period of growth and transformation.
About the Role:
As Business Manager, you will report directly to the Board and take responsibility for driving business development, financial resilience, and organisational growth. You will play a central role in developing and implementing strategies to increase income, secure funding, and expand services, while ensuring robust financial control and effective internal business processes. You will also oversee key operational functions including finance, administration, and site management, and support the development of high-performing teams to ensure the organisation continues to deliver impact for people with learning disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement business development strategies aligned with the charity's mission and goals.
- Build financial and service resilience through effective planning and income generation.
- Identify and secure funding through grants, contracts, fundraising, and social enterprise development.
- Oversee financial management processes, budgets, and reporting in line with Board requirements.
- Provide oversight of finance and administration functions, including support to relevant staff.
- Develop and embed robust business processes and systems, including IT and project management solutions.
- Manage site operations and ensure effective delivery of services.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, partners, and commissioners.
- Promote the organisation's work through marketing, communications, and networking activities.
- Lead on contract and tender opportunities with local authorities and other organisations.
- Develop dashboard reporting and KPIs to monitor performance and impact.
- Support service development and identify new opportunities to meet the needs of people with learning disabilities.
- Ensure safeguarding, equality, and diversity principles are embedded across all operations.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience in business development, income generation, or senior operational management.
- Strong track record of securing funding, contracts, or developing new revenue streams.
- Experience in business process redesign and organisational improvement.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop teams.
- Sound financial management experience including budgeting and reporting.
- Degree-level qualification or professional equivalent in Business, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Knowledge or experience of the learning disability or social care sector is highly desirable.
- A proactive, strategic thinker with strong problem-solving ability.
- Full UK driving licence is essential.
- Appointment will be subject to DBS clearance, right to work checks and satisfactory references.
