A long-established precision engineering company in Stoke on Trent is looking for an experienced CNC Machinist (Turning Setter/Operator) to join its manufacturing team on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will programme, set and operate Fanuc-controlled Turning machines, producing high-quality precision engineered components for a wide range of industries. The role offers a competitive salary up to £37,500 per year dependent on experience, company bonus scheme, generous annual leave, free onsite parking and excellent overtime opportunities with enhanced rates of pay.
As the CNC Machinist (Turning Setter/Operator) your key responsibilities will be:
- Programming, setting and operating Fanuc-controlled Turning machines.
- Producing high-quality precision machined components to engineering drawings.
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and working to tight tolerances.
- Carrying out tooling changes and machine set-ups.
- Inspecting finished components to ensure quality standards are maintained.
- Identifying and resolving machining issues where required.
- Maintaining a safe and organised working environment.
- Supporting production targets whilst maintaining high standards of workmanship.
The CNC Machinist (Turning Setter/Operator) will have the following skills and experience:
- Previous experience programming, setting and operating Fanuc-controlled Turning machines is essential.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Strong background within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Practical problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
You will be working 37-hours per week between 8.00am and 5.00pm, Monday to Thursday, with Friday's off. Overtime is regularly available and paid at enhanced rates providing excellent earning potential.
