A rapidly expanding Stoke on Trent based bookkeeping company is looking for an experienced hands-on Senior Bookkeeper to manage a growing portfolio of client accounts. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking and supportive company with excellent training and career progression opportunities and would suit an AAT or ICB qualified individual or a bookkeeper.
As the Senior Bookkeeper your key responsibilities will be:
- Manage a portfolio of bookkeeping clients.
- Daily/weekly/monthly bookkeeping in Xero.
- Bank reconciliations, journals, prepayments/accruals, CIS, VAT returns.
- Support team members as required.
- Liaise with customers and suppliers.
- Ensure all work is completed accurately and on time.
- Contribute towards improving service delivery.
The Senior Bookkeeper will have the following skills and attributes:
- Minimum AAT Level 3 or ICB Level 3 (or equivalent).
- Experience working in a bookkeeping or accountancy practice and mentoring junior staff is highly desirable.
- Strong practical experience with Xero is essential.
- Organised with a meticulous attention to detail and confident handling end-to-end bookkeeping.
- Excellent communicator with the ability to build rapport quickly and maintain customer relationships.
- Payroll experience using BrightPay, Dext, Apron or similar tools would be a distinct advantage.
You will work flexibly from the office in Stoke on Trent and home, Monday to Friday, and will receive an attractive pay and benefits package up to £36,000 per year with excellent opportunities for career development and progression. Appointment will be subject to DBS clearance, right to work checks and satisfactory references.
