A fast-growing technology installation company in Stoke on Trent is looking for an experienced Data Cabling Technician to manage the installation, repair and maintenance of cabling and network infrastructure.

The role offers an attractive remuneration package including salary up to 32,000 per year plus bonuses, industry training and accreditations, career development, company van and fuel card, and would suit someone with previous experience within this sector or from an electrical or security background with experience of installing structured cabling systems and networks.

As the Data Cabling Technician, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Work from construction drawings, reading job diagrams, scopes and specifications
  • Installations of network and structured cabling (Cat5e/6/6a & Fibre Optic
  • PVC and metal containment installation including cable tray and basket.
  • Testing with Fluke Testers.
  • Diagnose and rectify faults successfully.
  • Carrying out network audits and reporting on progress and issues to line managers and client contacts.
  • Maintaining Quality standards whilst meeting agreed timescales.

The Data Cabling Technician will have the following skills and attributes:

  • Installation of structured cabling systems experience is essential.
  • Working knowledge of CCTV and door access or audio visual systems (not essential but desirable).
  • Knowledge and experience with Fluke testers including fibre (desirable).
  • Have flexibility around working hours, including night work and overtime.
  • Willing and able to work within different locations over the UK staying away when needed.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure, paying good attention to detail at all times.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to take initiative and self-manage workload without supervision.
  • CSCS/ECS card (desirable)
  • IPAF and PASMA licence (preferred but not essential).
  • Full Driving license (clean or a maximum of 3 points).

You will be working 40 hours per week from the Stoke office and from various client locations locally and nationally. Door-to-door travel in addition to increased overtime rates for weekends.

Appointment is subject to DBS clearance, right to work checks satisfactory references.
