A leading M&E Consultancy based in Stafford, specialising in mechanical and electrical engineering design and project management, is seeking an experienced Building Services Design Engineer to join their expanding team. In this key role, you\’ll drive high-quality mechanical installation projects from concept to completion, working closely with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams. They offer a dynamic, innovation-focused environment with strong career growth opportunities and recognition for success.
As the Building Services Design Engineer you will be responsible for:
- Producing detailed 2D/3D designs and drawings in AutoCAD (or similar software) for a variety of mechanical installation projects.
- Understanding client requirements and translating them into effective design solutions that meet both project specifications and expectations.
- Representing the company in meetings with stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and project alignment.
- Overseeing the project lifecycle, including surveying, project management, and the preparation of technical reports.
- Conducting site visits to monitor progress on live construction sites, ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
- Providing mentorship to junior staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
The Building Services Design Engineer will have the following skills and experience:
- Proficient in AutoCAD or similar design software is preferred but not essential.
- Previous experience managing design projects within a multi-service M&E company would be a distinct advantage. A background in the construction industry or a building services environment is also beneficial.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of working with various stakeholders.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are required, as travel to project sites is a part of the role.
You will be working from the office in Stafford with occasional visits to customer sites, Monday to Friday.
