Recruitment Pro is currently recruiting for a Maintenance Electrician on behalf of our client, a growing manufacturing business based in Scunthorpe. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established production environment where you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of factory operations. Our client operates internationally and has experienced significant growth in recent years, supplying high-quality products to markets worldwide. They are now looking for a skilled Maintenance Electrician to join their engineering team and support the continued performance of the site.
The Role
As a Maintenance Electrician, you will work as part of the maintenance team with hours of 7am until 3pm Monday to Friday to ensure the factory operates efficiently, safely and with minimal downtime. The role involves working across multiple departments to maintain, repair and improve electrical and mechanical systems within the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out electrical and mechanical maintenance, repairs and installation tasks across the factory.
- Support the implementation and management of electrical systems to ensure continuous factory operations.
- Assist with preventative maintenance programmes (PPM) to minimise downtime and improve equipment reliability.
- Review and improve maintenance procedures to maximise efficiency.
- Conduct routine inspections of machinery and factory equipment.
- Perform on-site testing in line with health & safety and legal requirements.
- Support investigations into equipment breakdowns and implement corrective actions.
- Produce reports and recommendations to improve factory processes.
- Work closely with production and management teams to support operational requirements.
- Evaluate processes and controls and suggest improvements where necessary.
- Assist teams across the business with maintenance and engineering tasks when required.
- Carry out inspections across the factory to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Ensure the site remains prepared for internal and external audits and inspections.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Experience working in a maintenance electrician role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with PLC systems and industrial control systems.
- Knowledge of HMIs, sensors, VFDs and industrial electrical components.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable:
- Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, PanelView, or SCADA systems.
- Knowledge of Rockwell Studio5000 or RS Logix.
- Experience using FactoryTalk View Studio.
- CAD knowledge for electrical schematics.
