Due to continued growth and expansion plans, they are looking to recruit an ambitious and commercially focused Business Development Consultant to help drive new business opportunities and strengthen existing client relationships. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual who enjoys building relationships, identifying opportunities, and playing a key role in the continued growth of a successful engineering business. The role will combine business development, client engagement, marketing support, and bid/tender activity, making it ideal for someone who enjoys a varied and fast-paced position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across target markets
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients
  • Conduct outbound business development activity including calls, emails, LinkedIn networking, and client meetings
  • Support the preparation of presentations, proposals, tenders, and commercial documents
  • Assist with PQQs, RFQs, and formal tender submissions
  • Work closely with internal departments to understand services and identify opportunities for growth
  • Attend networking events, client meetings, and industry events where required
  • Assist with social media campaigns and company content creation
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis
  • Maintain CRM systems and track business development activity
  • Help promote the company’s services within the engineering and industrial sectors

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience within a Business Development, Sales, Account Management, or Commercial role
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Confident speaking with clients both over the phone and face-to-face
  • Commercially aware with the ability to identify opportunities

Desirable (Not Essential)

  • Experience within engineering, manufacturing, construction, or technical sectors
  • Experience supporting tender or bid processes
