Recruitment Pro is recruiting Steel Operatives to join a well-established steel processing site based in Newark. This role offers long-term stability, excellent training opportunities and a clear salary progression structure once permanent. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling steel arriving from the docks, cutting materials using saws and preparing orders for dispatch. This is a hands-on, physical role suited to someone who enjoys practical work and learning new skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Unloading and handling steel delivered from the docks
- Picking parts ready for dispatch
- Cutting steel to required sizes using industrial saws
- Using an overhead crane
- Preparing and organising materials for outgoing shipments
- Loading shipments
- Working safely and following all site procedures
- Maintaining a clean and organised working area
- Supporting any additional warehouse or yard duties as required
Requirements
- Driving licence essential (due to the location of the site)
- Previous experience in a labouring, warehouse, factory or steel/metalwork environment is desirable but not essential
- Experience using OHC
- Willingness to learn and skill up on cutting equipment
- Good level of physical fitness
- Reliable, hard-working and able to work as part of a team
