We are delighted to be recruiting for an outstanding employer based in Northern Ireland and operating throughout the UK and Ireland. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with specialists in the design and manufacture of electrical switchgear and automated control systems.

With our dedicated team of experienced engineers, we are able to offer total solutions to our clients, a one-stop engineering shop whether a standard or purpose-made system at a realistic cost.

Our client is currently on the lookout for an experienced electrical switchgear design engineer to work on a permanent basis at our manufacturing company based in Dungannon, Co Tyrone. The company is a successful electrical manufacturing business specialising in motor control centres, low voltage switchgear, transfer switches, and PDUs.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Schedule: 9-5 pm - Monday to Friday

Early finish: Friday

28 Days Holidays

Responsibilities will include:

  • Assemble document packages and develop drawing sets to be reviewed by the Production Manager for our range of low voltage switchgear products.
  • Liaise with Sales Director on tender drawings.
  • Prepare detailed electrical schematics for switchgear as well as general arrangement layout drawings.
  • Prepare electrical bills of materials.
  • Interact with customers/consultants, mechanical engineering, automation personnel, and other staff to resolve identified issues.
  • Be a player in continuous product improvement.
  • Electrical engineering with a bias toward switchgear and motor control systems.

Requirements:

  • Be degree qualified in electrical engineering or similar (not essential; those from a technical background who fit the profile will also be considered).
  • Knowledge of modular steel work systems such as Cubic, Elsteel, etc.
  • Knowledge of Schneider and ABB range of LV products.
  • Be confident of LV design and manufacture of switchgear up to 6300Amps.
  • Experience with Solid Works electrical or similar electrical design software.
  • Experience with switchgear design to IEC / UL product standards would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience with 2D and/or 3D software.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Professional approach to work with an eye for detail.
  • Good team player.
  • Be a self-starter and capable of working with minimal guidance.
  • Driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Willingness to travel if required.
