What you'll be doing

As an Inclusive Economy Project Officer, you will play a central role in facilitating, managing and monitoring the delivery of the Pride in Place Impact Fund and Pride in Place 2 programmes, ensuring that projects are effectively implemented and deliver meaningful outcomes for local communities. Working closely with neighbourhood boards, residents, partners and stakeholders, you will support the development and delivery of local priorities that contribute to the Government's Pride in Place agenda and Luton's wider vision for Luton 2040. You will be responsible for coordinating programme activity, monitoring performance, managing risks and timescales, and ensuring funding is used effectively to maximise impact. The role also involves undertaking research, analysing data and intelligence, and producing high-quality reports, briefings and updates for senior leaders, governance boards and central government departments. In addition, you will support the senior management team in driving forward the wider economic growth strategy, helping to translate strategic priorities into clear, tangible outcomes that support inclusive growth, strengthen communities and create opportunities for residents across the town.

What we're looking for

We're looking for a proactive and highly organised project professional with experience of successfully delivering projects or programmes and achieving measurable outcomes. You'll have a proven ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, including businesses, public and voluntary sector organisations, central government departments, community groups and local residents, building strong and productive relationships to achieve shared objectives. Strong communication and engagement skills are essential, with experience of developing and delivering communications, marketing activity and stakeholder events, alongside the ability to influence, negotiate and secure commitment from partners at all levels. You will be confident managing competing priorities, resolving challenges constructively and using your relationship-building skills to foster positive outcomes. The successful candidate will also have strong analytical capabilities, able to interpret complex data and information, identify trends and translate findings into clear, concise reports, recommendations and presentations for a variety of audiences. Knowledge of PRINCE2 or equivalent project management methodologies, tools and techniques is desirable, together with practical project management experience and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes that support inclusive growth and thriving communities.
