Recruitment Hunters are recruiting for Financial Controller position based in Cambridge. Official title being “CFO”, for advertising purposes and duties required for the salary stated we are looking at different levels for this position from Head of Finance, FC, FD to step into this CFO role.

You should be a Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, CIPFA) with extensive experience with financial management, annual budgets, reporting, cash flow analysis, strategic budgeting and financial reporting.

It is an exciting time to join this organisation as they are going through a new transitional change to move the organisation to the next level, so this CFO role is crucial. The firm are also revolutionising the way they work by bringing in a new IPRS system, with invoice matching, payroll reconciliation, budgeting and reporting all being systemised. With all this in mind, the firm require an experience Financial Leader to oversee all over the coming months.Ideally to start in August 2025..

Key Purpose of the Role – Financial Controller (CFO)

Responsibilities

Key purpose of the role

The role essentially is broken into 3 main areas with 3 direct reports.

·Preparation of statuary annual report and financial statements

·Monthly preparation of management information, monitoring of financial performance and reporting

·Oversee annual budgets, cash flow forecasts & three year financial forecast

·Management of the organisations debt and investments and manage arrangement of loan facilities

·Oversee management of payroll and pensions

·Oversee the short and long term financial viability of the firm

·Ensuring income generation for 3 other areas of the organisation

Development Funding (Charitable) Duties:

·Strategic responsibility for setting and monitoring annual targets for development director

·Oversee contractual arrangements and demands

·Oversee and advise on reporting and tax for charitable donations

Catering (Food & Hygiene) Duties:

·Work with the catering manager to ensure best practice and oversee the financials

·Lead on recruitment with the catering manger to assist with the process and monitor retention and ensure all food hygiene processes are in place

·Set and deliver annual business plan for this section of the business

·Ensuring targets are in place to achieve at minimum a break-even model

Sports & Leisure (Separate Ltd) Facility Duties:

·Act as company secretary for this part of the firm ensuring monthly management accounts are circulated to company directors

·Ensure regular meetings with AGM and oversee all financial data for this division

·Annual business planning, forecasting and ambitious target setting

Education and Skills – Senior Financial Management

Education & Experience Required

  • Educated to Degree Level (ESSENTIAL)
  • Professional CCAB Accounting – Qualified – CIMA, ACCA, ACA or CIPFA (ESSENTIAL)
  • 7 – 10 years at a Senior Finance Management Head of Finance, FC, FD or CFO level (ESSENTIAL)
  • Annual Budgets, Reporting, Cash Flow Analysis, Strategic Budgeting experience (ESSENTIAL)
  • Strong Level of Excel (ESSENTIAL)

This will be a permanent role paying up to £80,000 , with 24% Pension, excellent benefits and onsite parking. This role is offered on a Full-Time Basis and Part-Time would also be considered.

Onsite would be required for this role.
