Job Description

An excellent opportunity for an experienced Multi-Skilled Mechanical Technician to join a well-established company based in Birtley, Gateshead.\\n\\nJob Type: Full-Time, Permanent.\\n\\nLocation: Gateshead.\\n\\nSalary: Salary negotiable depending on experience.\\n\\nThe company’s multi-skilled mechanical technician is responsible for assembly, installing, maintaining, and commissioning hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.\\n\\nIt is expected that the technician must have a good understanding of mechanical and electrical principles used within hydraulic systems. Hand and power tools, as well as specialised testing and measuring equipment will be used as part of the role.\\n\\nThis position will provide a varied and challenging role, with the opportunity for a motivated individual to develop their skills and industry knowledge, while we support you in your personal career progression.\\n\\nMain Duties:\\n\\n * Mechanical assembly of systems against drawings.\\n\\n * Wiring of electrical power AC and control DC systems against diagrams.\\n\\n * Testing and commissioning of electro-hydraulic systems.\\n\\n * Fault finding on electrical and mechanical systems.\\n\\n * Bending of rigid tube and pipes using manual and electrical bender.\\n\\n * Manufacture of hydraulic hose assemblies.\\n\\n * Flushing of hose assemblies, pipework, and complete systems.\\n\\n * Pressure testing of hose assemblies and pipework.\\n\\n * Replacement of mechanical and electrical components on hydraulic systems.\\n\\n * Servicing of hydraulic systems in autonomy.\\n\\n * To ensure that all work carried out complies with instructions given.\\n\\n * To be aware of activity (task) target hours and make every effort to ensure that these targets are achieved or bettered.\\n\\n * To preserve and maintain all company tools and equipment in your care.\\n\\n * Always comply to internal and customer site regulations and HSEQ guidelines.\\n\\n * Supporting in all areas of work where appropriate\\n\\n * Embrace and support our company values\\n\\n * To have a proactive and positive attitude to your work and encourage team members to achieve company objectives.\\n\\nCandidate Requirements:\\n\\nGood knowledge of mechanical and electrical control systems.\\n\\nConscious of the safety of themselves and others in the area in which they are working.\\n\\nAble to read mechanical drawings.\\n\\nAble to read and understand basic electrical diagram.\\n\\nAble to carry out maintenance tasks in autonomy.\\n\\nExperience in diagnosing faults and repairing mechanical and electrical systems.\\n\\nAbility to work to strict safety standards.\\n\\nGood knowledge of general engineering practices such as measuring/ marking off/ manual drilling and tapping.\\n\\nAbility to work as part of a team\\n\\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills\\n\\nA minimum of 3 years’ experience in similar role\\n\\nMinimum Qualification 4 Year Engineering Apprenticeship.\\n\\nClear communicator both written and verbal.\\n\\nEligible to work permanently in the UK.\\n\\nFull driving licence.\\n\\nIf you feel that you have the relative skills/attributes to fulfil this role then please apply now!\\n\\nThe company is an Equal Opportunity Employer that does not discriminate based on race, religion, sexual orientation, age or disability.
