An excellent opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established company. Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent. Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 Per Annum, Depending on Experience. Location: Mansfield, Nottingham - with regular travel to project sites across the East Midlands. About The Company: They are a well-established East Midlands building contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality construction, refurbishment and general building projects across the region. The company are looking for a Quantity Surveyor who is ready to develop their career within their commercial team and contribute to the successful delivery of projects from pre-contract through to final account. This is a strong career development opportunity for someone who wants more than a desk-based commercial role. You will gain practical exposure to live projects, work alongside experienced commercial and operational colleagues, and develop the confidence to take increasing responsibility across cost control, valuations, subcontractor accounts, reporting, contract administration and accurate commercial record keeping. Key Duties: * Support the commercial management of allocated projects under the guidance of senior commercial staff. * Assist with project budgets, cost/value reconciliations, cash flow forecasts and cost reporting. * Prepare interim valuations and applications for payment. * Assist with subcontractor quotation comparisons, procurement, payment applications and variations. * Assist with contract administration duties and develop working knowledge of JCT forms of contract. * Identify potential commercial or contractual risks and escalate them to senior commercial staff. * Work closely with directly employed site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and clients to support successful project delivery. Candidate Requirements You will be a qualified Quantity Surveyor with relevant construction industry experience and a sound understanding of construction costs, valuations, variations and subcontractor accounts. You will be organised, accurate and confident working with numbers, with strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain clear, well-structured commercial records. Clear communication, a positive team approach and a genuine willingness to continue learning and developing will be important to success in this role. Essential: * Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline. * Sound understanding of construction costs, valuations, variations and subcontractor accounts. * Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail. * Experience assisting with CVRs, forecasts, payment applications or final account preparation. * Confident user of Microsoft Excel, with the ability to maintain accurate and well-structured commercial records. * Clear communication skills, a positive team approach and a genuine willingness to continue learning and developing.
