About The Company: They are an established, independent HGV workshop providing professional maintenance and repair services to a wide range of commercial vehicle operators. The company are looking for an experienced HGV Technician to join their workshop team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys fault finding and diagnostics, and wants to work in a fast-paced environment where no two jobs are the same.
About The Role: As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for the inspection, servicing, maintenance and repair of a wide range of vehicles.
Key Duties:
- Routine servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
- Fault finding using diagnostic equipment, including TEXA and Jaltest
- MOT preparation and rectification work
- Investigating and repairing vehicle defects
- Carrying out repairs to a high standard and in accordance with manufacturer and industry standards
- Completing service sheets and job documentation accurately
- Working safely and maintaining a clean and professional working environment
- Working both independently and as part of a team
Candidate Requirements:
- Good knowledge of HGVs and commercial vehicles
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic ability
- Experience carrying out servicing, inspections and repairs
- The ability to diagnose faults logically and efficiently
- A professional attitude and pride in the quality of their work
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- A self-motivated approach to their work
- Good attention to detail, particularly when completing vehicle and service documentation
Relevant qualifications such as NVQ/City & Guilds or equivalent are desirable.
Working Hours: Week 1: Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 3:00pm; Week 2: Monday – Friday, 12:00pm – 8:00pm; Plus: Saturday, 7:00am – 12:00pm. A £60 late shift bonus is paid for the late-shift week.
