Job Description

An excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrician to join a well-established company based in Blaydon-On-Tyne!

Starting Salary: £25.00 – £28.00 per hour depending on experience with additional responsibility payments and Enhanced overtime rates (ETO: £70,000 – £75,000)

The Company:

They are a specialist electrical/mechanical contractor to the electrical supply industry and other large consumers of electricity. The company specialises in repair and refurbishment of power transformers and associated high voltage plant.

The Role:

We are looking for a qualified electrician to eventually work within small multi-skilled teams on high voltage (HV) substation projects throughout the UK.

This is a hands-on role that also requires attention to detail and is ideal for someone who enjoys varied electrical and some mechanical work in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervision and participation in electrical works within HV substations

General electrical duties including

  • Installation and termination of multi-core cabling

  • Tray work and panel wiring

  • Completing and maintaining project documentation

  • Ensuring work is delivered to the highest standards

Additional Information:

  • Most work involves working away from home

  • Occasional weekend and bank holiday work may be required

  • Transport, lodging allowance, and expenses are covered

  • All necessary training will be provided

  • Successful candidates will have the opportunity to progress and carryout authorisation training for various UK electricity companies

Candidate Requirement:

  • Must have previous electrical knowledge and experience

  • Strong technical competence and broad trade knowledge

  • Experience working on power transformers or within HV substations is advantageous but not essential
