About The Company:
Over forty years in business gives them a wealth of experience, they are big enough to supply steelwork contracts up to 300 tonnes and over, and yet small enough to respond with a next-day service on site as required. They are now looking to recruit an Experienced Steel Estimator / QS to join their team on a Full-Time basis. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience within the Construction and Structural Steel industry.
About The Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing cost estimates, managing project finances, maintaining detailed records, liaising with clients and contractors, and ensuring that projects are completed within budget and on schedule.
Candidate Requirements:
- The ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Be able to present tenders accurately and professionally to clients
- Receiving written and verbal enquiries
- Follow up on submitted quotations
- Liaise with clients and understand their requirements
- Preparation and sending written/computerised tenders and quotations
Personal Requirements:
- Experience within the Construction and Steel work industries
- Previous experience of an Estimating/QS role
- Detailed knowledge of interpreting the technical elements and requirements of the engineered drawings
- Good communication skills are essential
- Must be able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Strong numeracy and computer skills
- Possess a clean full UK Driving Licence (as some site visits may be required)
- Good understanding of JCT & NEC contracts
