They are a specialist manufacturer of high-precision filtration equipment currently relocating to Wareham as part of an exciting period of growth and investment. Significant capital expenditure is being made in advanced CNC machining technology, creating an opportunity for skilled engineers to play a key role in shaping the future of the business.

The company are building a small, highly capable manufacturing team and are seeking individuals who can contribute beyond day-to-day machining activities. They value problem-solving, process improvement, technical expertise and a proactive approach to manufacturing excellence.

They are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer / Setter to support their relocation and continued expansion. The successful candidate will have strong programming and setting experience across a range of CNC machinery, including milling machines, lathes, mill/turn centres and sliding head machines, particularly Mazak and Star equipment.

This role is ideally suited to a highly skilled machinist who enjoys taking ownership of their work, solving manufacturing challenges and driving continuous improvement. As part of a small and growing team, you will be expected to work with a high degree of independence and initiative, identifying opportunities to improve processes, reduce cycle times and enhance production performance.

For the right individual, this position offers a clear pathway towards a future Production Management role as the company continues to expand.

  • CNC programming, setting and optimisation of machining processes
  • CNC milling, turning, mill/turn and sliding head operations
  • Online and/or offline programming as required
  • Editing, setting, proving-out and improving CNC programs
  • Identifying opportunities to improve machining efficiency, quality and productivity
  • Ensuring all components meet required quality standards and tolerances
  • Assisting with the establishment and development of manufacturing processes during the company relocation

Strong CNC programming and setting experience is essential. Experience with CNC milling and CNC turning. Experience of Mazak and Star machinery highly desirable. CAD/CAM experience preferred, particularly Fusion 360 or SolidWORKS/SolidCAM. Experience improving manufacturing methods, tooling strategies or cycle times would be advantageous. High attention to detail and commitment to quality. CNC operators without programming and setting experience will not be considered. Comfortable working with minimal supervision.
