Sign Maker and Installer Location: FASTSIGNS Portsmouth Position Type: Full-Time / Permanent Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 (dependent on experience)
The Opportunity: Build Something Brilliant. FASTSIGNS Portsmouth is a busy, growing sign business, and we are looking for a Sign Maker and Installer to run our day-to-day production. We aren't just an "old-school shop" where you'll follow the same tired routines; you'll be helping us set the standard for quality and creativity along the South Coast. As part of a global network of over 750 centres (and over 23 right here in the UK), you'll have the backing of a world-class brand while working in a tight-knit, agile, and forward-thinking local team.
The Role: What You'll Be Doing. This is a truly varied role. One hour, you'll be operating a large-format printer, and the next, you'll be out on-site installing a storefront.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Print & Production: Operating our large-format printers, plotters, and laminators to bring designs to life on a variety of materials.
- Installation: Taking the finished product to the clients premises and executing smaller installations such as window vinyls and static signage.
- Workflow Management: Managing the "RIP" software, ordering materials, and ensuring our quality control is second to none.
- Logistics: Packing, delivering, and occasionally managing the "paperwork" to keep projects on track.
What You Bring to the Team. We need a "Swiss Army Knife" of a professional - someone who is technically skilled, physically capable, and ready to get stuck in.
- Technical Expertise: Experience in large-format print production is required, knowledge of Adobe Illustrator is a highly useful skill, but not essential.
- Hands-on Skills: Confidence using power tools and installing graphics (vehicle wrap or high-level signage experience is a massive plus).
- On the Road: A full UK driving licence is essential for site visits and installs.
- A Proactive Mindset: You are organised, great at managing your own time, and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Crucially, you must also:
- Have a great sense of humor.
- Enjoy working with fun, hardworking people.
Why FASTSIGNS Portsmouth?
- Top-Tier Facility: Work with the latest kit in a fresh, modern environment.
- Career Growth: We are big believers in development. If you want to learn new techniques or step further into senior management as the centre grows, we'll support you.
- Elite Training: Access to the FASTSIGNS UK training academy and network-wide support.
- Great Culture: A small, dedicated team where your hard work is actually noticed and rewarded.
