Job Description: We are currently looking for a Nursecall Field Engineer to join our team and help us to provide the highest quality of installation and maintenance service of nurse call systems. This role will generally cover some semi-national travel; however, you should be based in the South of England (e.g. Oxfordshire, Hampshire area or similar). It's typical to have up to a 2-hour commute to the job. Occasionally travel further afield will be required, e.g. to Isle of Wight. You must consider that there could be installations up to Midlands area or beyond; however, we will try to limit your work area to the South of England where possible.
You must have strong nurse call experience, ideally on Wireless Nurse Call Systems such as Medicare Systems, Courtney Thorne, ARM, etc. Whilst wired Nurse Call experience is also valid, we would prefer some wireless experience where possible. Experience on fire alarms or other addressable call systems is acceptable. This is a hands-on role - you will be issued tools and be hands-on, so being confident and practical is a must. Technical competence is something that can always be worked on, but you must be able to demonstrate you have confidence and a good grounding in nurse call. You must be technically literate and competent with modern technology, e.g. an understanding of Android, basic IP addressing / networking, Microsoft Windows etc. - we aren't expecting you to be a software developer, but we need to ensure you are happy troubleshooting Microsoft Windows on Wi-Fi connection issues, software updates and installing files etc which is required for some Microsoft Windows based Nurse Call systems. Experience, knowledge and understanding of networks and IP based systems is desirable.
About The Role: As a Nursecall Field Engineer, you will be responsible for servicing existing nurse call systems (Mainly Medicare and Intercall), as well as new installations of their HARIS Nurse call system across the North of England. This will include fault finding to resolve problems, programming call points, replacing affected components and installing new peripherals. This is entirely within adult social care environments (care homes, nursing homes etc). You may also need to install a small number of data cables to facilitate nurse call equipment, so you should be confident in chase walls, drilling holes, running and terminating data cables.
Key Duties:
- Testing nurse call system functionality to fault find issues
- Setting up new display screens and call points to replace faulty units
- Providing on-site training on system functionality
- Installing new peripherals and accessories on nurse call systems
- Installing new nurse call systems
- Running a small amount of CAT5e/CAT6 Data Cables to support new hardware installations
- Investigating Wi-Fi or other IT faults
- Racking and patching IT equipment in data cabinets
You will be the face of the company whilst on site with customers, so great people skills will be important - often in a technical situation, customers will look to you for help and guidance, so being able to translate complex terms to simple explanations for non-technical staff is a great skill. Ultimately this is an opportunity to develop with a chance to build a rewarding career in a small professional company.
Candidate Requirements:
- Full UK driving license
- Pass a DBS Basic Disclosure (formally referred to as a CRB check)
- Have a fluent competency in English
- Have right to remain / right to work in the UK (we will not sponsor employment / residency)
Company Benefits:
- Company vehicle with Fuel card
- Company laptop
- Company phone
- Overtime opportunities
- Uniform with ID
- All tools and equipment paid for
- 30 days annual leave + bank holidays + your birthday
