About The Company:
Providing groundworks and civil engineering services for maintenance and new installations, the company work for private, commercial and public clients across Kent and the South East. They deliver projects large and small from public highways and housing developments to private residential builds and home improvement projects.
They are now looking to recruit an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their team.
About The Role:
Based at their Betteshanger Park office near Deal the Quantity Surveyor will work as part of the Commercial management team to ensure complete financial control of projects located throughout the South East of England.
Duties:
Provide commercial support for Civil Engineering and Groundworks packages
Understand contractual requirements of JCT and NEC forms of contract
Liaise with client & client representatives & 3rd parties
Attend site meetings as required
Cost management for project / sector works
Assist with material and subcontract procurement
Production of cost forecasts
Prepare interim applications for payment
Process Subcontract assessments and payments
Management and identification of Risk & Opportunities
Assist with monthly CVR and subcontract liability forecasts
Assist with estimating and tenders for new projects
Candidate Requirements:
A qualified / experienced Intermediate level QS with at least 3-5 years industry experience spread over a mix of office and site duties.
HND in Quantity Surveying or other equivalent construction related subject
Demonstrable commercial experience, preferably within the Civil Engineering / Groundworks sector
Good understanding of JCT & NEC contracts. Good communication and negotiation skills
With an already confirmed order book ahead of us, progression would be on the horizon for the right candidate
