Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.

About The Role:

The company are currently looking to appoint a new Fire & Security Alarm Design/Estimates Engineer to join their dynamic team in Bury. The candidate will provide comprehensive support to their Design and Estimates team, working with clients and engineers to provide compliant designs in line with current British Standards and issue quotations accordingly in Fire & Life Safety systems.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Reviewing technical specifications and understanding clients' requirements.
  • Completing design take-offs and producing a schedule of quantities.
  • Completing initial designs based on a technical specification.
  • Producing design drawings, schematics.
  • Completing design calculations and presenting technical information.
  • Liaising with manufacturers and suppliers for technical data and pricing.
  • Populating quotations with technical information and costs.
  • Researching suitable components/systems and checking for compatibility.
  • Producing technical content to support proposals and bids.
  • Writing tendering and supporting documentation for quoted projects.
  • Liaising with clients for information relating to the project tendering.
  • Liaising between sales team and general management.
  • Having the ability to talk to clients in depth about the system and equipment being offered in tender and attend meetings if required.
  • Acting as a point of contact for customers, clients or suppliers via email, over the phone or in person.
  • Responding to questions and requests for information.
  • To undertake any additional duties at the request of your line manager, which is deemed to be within your competency.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Fire/security alarm design and/or estimating experience.
  • ECS/CSCS card or equivalent (preferred).
  • Full Electrical Based Qualification Such as City & Guilds, ONC, HNC (preferred).
