Role Purpose:
Reporting to the Engineering Manager and working within a close-knit team of electrical and mechanical engineers. The role is customer facing and you will be expected to contribute to technical discussions with customers and colleagues. As such, excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are essential.
Job Duties:
- Compile drawings for client approval from front sheet, specification and information provided from BDMs.
- Act as customer liaisons to resolve potential issues or problems.
- Provide technical help and information to the Shop Floor and Service department.
- Customer site visits.
- Attend site meetings with clients as and when required.
- Liaise with Design team to resolve production or development problems.
- Liaise with Sales team to provide technical support and assistance in producing drawings for estimating/sales purposes.
- Producing detail drawings for manufacture.
- Creating bills of materials for manufacture.
- Amending and updating existing drawings and control prints.
- Producing calculations to assist with designs for client approval.
- Assisting the shop floor with technical problems.
- Managing projects when needed.
- Updating technical documents and manuals when needed.
- Assist clients and engineers with telephone support.
- A working knowledge of fabrication and welding techniques.
- Other reasonable management requests.
Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours:
- ONC, BTEC or higher in Mechanical Engineering.
- Competent in the use of Autodesk AutoCAD 2D.
- Competent in the use of Autodesk Inventor including knowledge of coding using iLogic.
- MS Office Experience including MS Excel.
- Demonstrate the ability to plan, organise and prioritise work.
- Reliable and professional.
- Flexible attitude and ability to work within a team.
- Strong communicator, confident liaising with clients, engineers and staff internally.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and to specific deadlines.
