Recruitment Education is working closely with a highly supportive primary school to recruit an experienced Primary Teacher with SEND / Autism experience for a permanent, full‑time role within the school's dedicated Autism Unit. The school is committed to staff development, upskilling, and internal promotion, making this an excellent long‑term opportunity.

About the Role

This role is ideal for a Primary Teacher, SEN Teacher, or SEND Teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and supporting pupils with autism. You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils within the Autism Unit.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning, preparing, and delivering an appropriate programme of work that actively engages pupils in learning
  • Is differentiated to meet individual SEND needs
  • Supports pupils' academic, social, and emotional development
  • Delivering a knowledge‑based curriculum that values and celebrates pupils' contributions
  • Creating a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment
  • Assessing progress and adapting teaching strategies accordingly
  • Working collaboratively with support staff, parents, and external professionals

The Ideal Candidate

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have experience as a Primary Teacher / SEN Teacher / SEND Teacher, ideally with autism experience
  • Be an outstanding classroom practitioner
  • Have strong behaviour management and inclusive teaching strategies
  • Be committed to professional development and long‑term progression
  • Be seeking a permanent teaching role within a supportive school
