We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team on a day-to-day basis in a school located in Erdington, Birmingham. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with Special Educational Needs, helping them to engage fully with the curriculum and providing individualised care and attention. Key Responsibilities: * Support students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and physical disabilities. * Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery, ensuring all pupils are actively engaged and supported. * Provide one-to-one or small group interventions, tailored to the needs of individual students. * Help with behavioural management and maintaining a positive learning environment. * Foster independence and encourage students to take part in activities. * Observe and monitor student progress, providing feedback to the class teacher. * Support students during breaks, lunchtime, and in extracurricular activities as required. Key Requirements: * Experience working with children, preferably with SEN students. * A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to working with children. * Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. * An understanding of the needs of students with autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and other special educational needs is desirable. * A relevant qualification in Special Educational Needs or Teaching Assistant (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is an advantage but not essential. * Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
